J.C. Phillips – Obituary

J.C. Phillips, 80, of Anderson passed away Monday, June 19th, 2017 at his residence. He was a graduate of Lexington High School, served 6 years in the United States Army Reserves, retired from Ford Motor Co. and GM/Delphi and a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson. He loved antique cars, car shows and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and Papa J.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 from 12 – 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Anderson. Funeral service will follow with James Waddell officiating. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clint Phillips, Matt Phillips, Bob Swan, Jeff Greer, David Thacker and Charles Bullard; honorary, Wayne Butler, Billy Johnson and Ray Phillips.
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Pete & Ony Lee Phillips and special niece, Mandy Roberson. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Marsha Johnson Phillips; sons, Jamey Phillips and Jerry (Beth) Phillips; grandchildren, Clint (Alyssa) Phillips, Whitney (Bob) Swan, Matt (Katelyn) Phillips, Erica Phillips and Mallory Brown; brother, Ray (Glenda) Phillips; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
