Mrs Izella Benson Proctor 98 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away on Thursday February 16, 2023. Izella is survived by her daughter Sharon Proctor, her daughter in-in-law Becky Proctor, Grandson John Proctor, Granddaughter Rena (Bubba) Smith, great grandchildren Kathrynn Proctor, Brooklynne Proctor, and Mason Smith, and her Sister Betty Godwin. Izella was preceded in death by her husband Delbert A. Proctor, son Larry Proctor, Parents Charlie and Ada Benson and her brothers Lee, Luther, Truman, and Charlie, Jr.
Izella was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary since they were established, volunteering to help with all projects to help veterans. Izella also loved volunteering at the nursing home where she cooked with her friend, Fran, for the patients and visiting with bedridden patients as well.She had a servant’s heart and was a truly genuine person. She will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends on Sunday February 19, 2023, at Rudder Funeral Home Scottsboro from 1 PM until 3 PM Funeral services will follow at 3 PM in the chapel of Rudder Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Broome officiating burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
