Ivy Jewell Frye of Finger, TN was born April 4, 1936 in McNairy, TN the daughter of the late H. V. and Elnora Stovall Miller. She was united in marriage to Billy D. Frye on October 31, 1955. Mr. Frye preceded her in death on January 30, 2012. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Frye departed this life on April 18, 2016 in her home at the age of 80 Years, 14 Days. She was an active member of Bethel Springs church of Christ and a former active member of the church of Christ in Mishawaka, Indiana where she lived for 34 years. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter who loved to share and help others. Mrs. Frye enjoyed working in the yard and the beauty of flowers and nature. She was an avid yard sale and consignment store enthusiast. She served regularly in “adopting” college students into her life and her home.
She is survived by her son, Steven Frye and wife Dottie of Searcy, AR; two grandsons, Andrew Frye and wife Jodi of Smyrna, TN, Matthew Frye of Searcy, AR; a sister, Ramelle Hardin of Bethel Springs, TN; a brother, Ronald Miller of Selmer, TN and a host of extended family and friends.
The family of Mrs. Frye expresses appreciation to her nephew Gary Kirk along with other family and friends for their love, devotion, care and support. Also to the Bethel Springs church of Christ for their heartfelt service.
Services will be held on April 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Jim Barr and Ryan Fraser officiating. Burial will follow in the Refuge Cemetery at Bethel Springs. Visitation will be on April 21, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation on Friday from 8:00 AM until service time.
