On Saturday, June 11, 2022, heaven’s gates opened and welcomed our precious wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Ivanell Hill, 80, of Rainbow City. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with Bro. O.B. Works officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home and from 12 pm until the hour of service Tuesday. She will be laid to rest at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Southside. Services are under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hill was a charter and supportive active member of Canoe Creek Baptist Church where she was always willing to do whatever task was at hand. Among many things she played piano and taught Sunday School. To know her was to lover her as she always put other before herself. She was recognized in her community as being a caregiver to anyone in need. Her hobbies include gardening, canning, collecting antiques, playing piano and singing.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, Houston Thomas and Nora New Henderson; brothers, Hugh Gale, Jerry Wayne and Jimmy Dale.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 65 years, Cleo F. Hill; children, Susan M. Howle, Michael F. Hill and Barry M. (Jennifer) Hill; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan, Steven, Haley, Whitley, Heston, David, Morgan, Houston, Hudson and LaNora; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Meadows, (McDonough, Ga and Gloria Jean (Bearden) Mintz, (Glencoe) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Heston Clough, Hudson Howle, Houston Hill, Davd Hill, Steven Hill and Jonathan Hill.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Kindred Hospice Care, especially Ashley, Lindy, Maddie and Kristin.
