Funeral Services for Mrs. Iva Lee Lett Brooks, age 89 of Ashland, will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Smith and Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Clay County Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, after High School Mrs. Brooks worked a number of years between Southland Manufacturing and Higgins Manufacturing as a seamstress. She also worked over 20 years in the Clay County Revenue Commissioners office as a clerk. If she wasn’t at work, you could find her outside working in her garden or flower beds, mowing grass or bird watching. Her children said she never sat down, was always doing something, but never complained. She was a great cook and loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by one daughter, Paula Brooks Reynolds (Bobby); one son, Stan Brooks (Wanda), both of Ashland; 6 grandchildren: Clay Brooks (Jennifer), Wes Brooks (Kari), Jason Wilkerson (Jamie), Kimberly Mulkey (T.J.), Chelsea Reynolds (Fiancee Chris), and Payton Reynolds; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lyla Clark of Aiken, SC; her sister-in-law, Jeanette Lett of Ashland and a large extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents: John Burl Lett and Littie Bell Shults Lett; her husband, James Horace Brooks; one sister, Gail Lett Nolen; and five brothers: Fred, Huland, Gene, Paul, and Dale Lett.

Active Pallbearers will be Payton Reynolds, Wes Brooks, Clay Brooks, Carey Nolen, Robbie Lett, and Dean Lett.

Her visitation will take place on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church from 12:30P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
