Iris Young Dean Cross 81, Hartselle passed away Wednesday December 21, 2016 at Decatur Health and Rehab. Mrs. Cross was retired from Prestolite after 39 years of service, she was a longtime member of Decatur Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buel and Maudie Marie Young, her husband Ben Cross and two brothers Jerry Young and Joe Young. She is survived by three sons, Larry Dale Dean of Madison; Randy Lynn Dean of Birmingham; and Allen Ray Dean of Mississippi; one daughter, Janice Faye Blankenship of Hartselle; one brother, Jim Young (Shelia) of Mobile; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Visitation and funeral service will be at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home, date and time will be announced. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Decatur Baptist Missions. Hartselle Heritage is assisting the family.
