Irene Scruggs, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where she was also a piano player for many years. She was also a piano player for several gospel groups as well. She loved her home, church, and brothers and sisters immensely. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Friday, October 25 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Phillip Logan. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Pallbearers include James Lowell Barnes, Josh Barnes, Sam Hampton, Alex Hampton, Joe Rutherford, and Donnie Yarbrough. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 brother – Gerald Scruggs of Iuka; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.C. and Minnie Scruggs; and 8 brothers and sisters – John, Ruby, Lula Mae, Bee, Thelma, Dorothy, Harold, and Lois.
