ireneFuneral service for Irene Pope, 99, of Danville will be Monday, May 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Pearl Jenkins and Bro. Jack Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at the church.

Mrs. Pope died on May 1, 2015 at her residence. She was born July 30, 1915 to Danial Moody Dutton and Laura Belle Minor. She is preceded in death by her husband William Robert Pope, sister, Mary Ilva Aldridge, grandson, John Daniel Pope and her parents.

Mrs. Pope born almost 100 years ago, attended Penn School when it was a one room school house. She was the daughter of a farmer and minister. She spent her life as a wife, mother, and servant of God as she served neighbors, friends, and family. Mrs. Pope was a graduate of Danville High School and married December 24, 1940 to William Robert Pope.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roundtop Church, Humane Society of Morgan County or Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Lamb, Ben Lamb, Andy Lamb, Bob Evans, Jonathan Evans, Dan Evans, and Will Steel.

Honorary pallbearers will be John L. Barrett, Johnny Burgess, Feiton Cooper, Jack Steel, Tim Baker, and Joseph Richardson.
