Irene Howell was born on November 23, 1943 in San Diego, California, the daughter of the late John Baptise Brooker and Pearl May Jamison Anzer.
On November 22, 1961, she was united in marriage to Don Howell, who preceded his wife in death on December 16, 2003.
Mrs. Howell owned Murray’s Liquor from 1991 until 2009. She was a member of Hinkle Baptist Church in Hardin County, Tennessee. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading all kinds of murder mystery and sci-fi novels or anything by her favorite autor, John Grisham. Irene also loved to spend time visiting with her family and friends. She loved getting to know people and never met a stranger.
Irene Howell departed this life on May 7, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 14 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Fohn of Olive Hill, Tennessee; son, John Howell of Saltillo, Tennessee; granddaughters, Megan Smith of Savannah, Tennessee and Lilly Fohn of Olive Hill, Tennessee; and great granddaughter, Piper Smith.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
