Irene Duncan White  Irene Duncan White

This is the announcement of the Homegoing of my beautiful wife of sixty-six years. She was kind, loving, and dedicated to serving Jesus with me for sixty plus years in Limestone, Morgan, and Madison County. On October 26th, 2022, at 5:51pm, angels came to my beautiful wife’s bedside telling her that her work here was done and that she was to be escorted home to be with Jesus in God’s wonderful heaven prepared for those that love Him.

Irene Duncan White is the most loving, kind, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and preacher’s wife. She proudly leaves behind three generations of children who all call her grandmother. She leaves behind her husband, Robert Sr. Our son Robert Jr. and wife Vickie, their sons Robert III and Jimmy Clay & wife Laura. Robert III has three sons, Taylor, Landon, and Lucas. Jim and Laura have two beautiful daughters, Ruby and Rosalee. Our daughter Marsha, who is deceased, has two sons, Alex and Sawyer. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Marsha Reavis, four brothers, and two sisters.

I fell in love with this beautiful young lady in college. I asked if she would date me. She said “I will not date you unless you go to church with me.” At that time, I was not in church. Little did I know that God was putting together a team that would serve Him in churches all over North Alabama for sixty plus years. Irene was not only a faithful wife and mother, she taught kindergarten at Athens First Baptist Church and later served at Athens High School as registrar. It has been a wonderful sixty-six plus years of living and working with a dedicated, beautiful woman that taught me the joy in serving our wonderful God.

Funeral services for Irene will be Saturday, October 29th, 2022, at 2:00pm at Sardis Springs Baptist Church, with Tim Keenum and Robert White Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00-2:00pm at the church. Burial will be at Sardis Springs Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rob White, Jim White, Sawyer Reavis, Taylor White, Landon White, Lucas White, and Russell Smith.

To all of us that she has left behind, know that she loved you and live for Jesus.
