Irene Beulah McKelvey, 87, a native of Lauderdale County, passed away May 15, 2014 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a member of Bethel Berry Church of Christ, and retired from Genesco as an inspector after 40 years of service.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 11 – 2 p.m. at Greenivew Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery.
Mrs. McKelvey was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey McKelvey; son, Larry McKelvey.
She is survived by his son, Rick McKelvey and wife Nancy; daughter-in-law, Judy McKelvey all of Florence; three grandchildren of Florence; two step-grandchildren of Athens; three great-grandchildren of Florence; four step-great-grandchildren of Athens.
Active pallbearers will be Jim Jones, Tim Bogus, David Richards, J.C. Young, Donald Young, and Jonathan Studstill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Wood and Grady Smith.
