Ione Cofer departed this life on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widow of Walter Eugene “Gene” Cofer, who preceded her in death in 2004, she was a homemaker. She was born Wednesday, March 24, 1937, in McNairy County, daughter of the late Leonard Neil Gladish and Mama Jane Morgan Gladish , living all of her life in Hardeman County. She was raised in the church of Christ and later became a member of Hatchie Baptist Church. Mrs. Cofer loved flowers, animals, especially cats and dogs, going to church, her family and God.
Survivors include three daughters, Ronda Cofer, Linda Cofer and Lisa Cofer, all of Hornsby; and a son, Roy Cofer of Hornsby. In addition to her husband, whom she married on June 15, 1957, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John, L.D. and George Gladish; a sister, Lueneal Freeman and a great nephew, James Brandon Rickman.
