Iola Woody Stewart passed away Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 99 at Church Street Manor in Ecru, MS. Born on December 29, 1924, in Crowder, OK to David R. and Bertie Shannon Woody. Prior to her retirement in 1987, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and nurse for Dr. John M. Patterson for 20 years.
Survivors include her children, Gregory Stewart (Carolyn), Michael Stewart both of Pontotoc, and Vicki Berryhill (Mark) of Brandon, MS; her grandchildren, Leigh Ann Coker (Randy), Scott Berryhill, Daniel Berryhill, John Stewart (Annie), Mandy Peden (Craig), Steven Stewart, and Carson Stewart; great-grandchildren, Cayden and Harrison Berryhill, Cameron Coker, Georgia Stewart, and Bobby Peden; her sister, B.J. Cathey (Jack); her brother, Ronald Woody; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayburn Stewart, her grandson, Jason Stewart, daughter-in-law, Dana Stewart, her parents, and her siblings, Lula Pitts, Edna Weeks, Otha Woody, Alma Woody, James Woody, Eula Amos, Anne Martin, Norma Young, and Leon Woody.
Services will be Monday, December 9, 2024, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with visitation beginning at 12PM. Her sons, Gregory and Michael Stewart, and Bro. Craig Jones, Minister of Maple Grove Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Scott Berryhill, Cayden Berryhill, Steven Stewart, Carson Stewart, Randy Stewart, and Craig Peden.
