Investigation of Mini Mart In Decatur Uncovers Trafficking In “Spice”

decatur police patchDECATUR-Starting in the month of January and continuing through April of 2014, the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit were investigating the Mini Mart on Carridale Street in Decatur.  Here is what that investigation uncovered in the words of the Decatur Police Department:

“During the months of January through April 2014, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit conducted a narcotics investigation concerning the Mini Mart at 1309 Carridale St SW Decatur, AL. Investigators discovered that the business was used to distribute synthetic marihuana (spice) to several individuals.

On April 1, 2014 members of the Decatur Police Department’s Special Operations Unit executed a narcotics search warrant at the Mini Mart. During the execution of the warrant, Officers made entry into the business and detained all business personnel. The manager of the store was present and identified as Muneer A. Hussein. After the business was closed and secured, officers searched the premises. 

spice haulDuring the search, officers located five loaded handguns. One firearm had an altered serial number. Officers then located a quantity of synthetic marijuana (spice). 

Hussein was placed under arrest for Trafficking in Controlled Substance Analogs and Possession of Firearm with Altered Serial Number.

Hussein was transported to Decatur City Jail where he was booked in and processed. He will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $7,500.00 aggregate bond.”
