MUSCLE SHOALS-ON Sunday around sunup  a transport of approximately 60 dogs were rescued and relocated from the Shoals to adoptees in Minneapolis, MN.

Don Gryder who operates Airborn Animal Resucue piloted his DC-3 out of Atlanta, GA flew the dogs in crates from MSL to their new homes in Minneapolis.

Retired Dr. Skiff Bailey, an airport tenant/pilot located at the Northwest Alabama Regional Airport organized this event, and he and his wife are founders and operators of https://www.hasradog.org/.   They normally transport these dogs in vehicles so having this inaugural rescue flight is important for their operation.

Barry Griffith, Airport Director said the airport offered fuel discounts to assist in support of the rescue flight.

Several area residents were there to help and others came out at the early hour of 6:30AM to watch and cheer on this inaugural flight.  The Quad Cities Daily was on hand to capture the heartwarming event in photos.
