Imogene WrightImogene Wright passed away peacefully on Saturday January 6, 2024. Imogene was born on July 22, 1933 in Fort Payne, AL, to the late Rev. Dow and Mertie Edwards. After marrying James “Corky” Wright on August 29, 1958, the two began a life devoted to their family, friends and community. Her boundless love and compassion for others was surpassed only by her unwavering love and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She faithfully served as a member of Minvale Baptist Church for nearly 40 years and on Saturday, her faith became sight.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Dow and Mertie Edwards, husband, James “Corky” Wright, and sister, Reba Phillips. She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Durham and Gail Pollock, daughter, Teresa Wright Musso, grandchildren, Jimmy Musso (Kristin), Allison Musso White (Joe) and Emily Musso (Kory). Great grandchildren, David Henry, Evelyn James and Rory Musso, and Solace Parker.

The family wishes to express our gratitude to the caregivers and loved ones who provided care, friendship and enrichment to Imogene through the last years of her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Minvale Baptist Church. Visitation 12:00 – 2:00 with funeral at 2. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Minvale Baptist Church in Imogene’s memory.

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
