Imogene “Jean” South, 83, of Iuka, MS, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. Mrs. South loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working with her flowers and cooking for anyone who would stop by. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and enjoyed anything that the church had going on. She also loved listening to The Gaithers. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2017, at New Salem Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at New Salem Baptist Church in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ron Norvell. Pallbearers include Maxey South, Marvin South, Jeff Hairrell, Howard Smith, Michael Brown, and James Lowell Barnes. Chuck Hendrix, Danny Ham, and Donnie Welch will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by her daughters, Dianece Ham and Delane Leathers (Harold); her son, Randy South (Teresa); 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.R. “Duck” South; her parents, Buster and Grace Brown; two sons, Terry South and Ricky South; and her brother, William Brown.
