A graveside service for Imelda C. Fisher will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Decatur City Cemetery. Don Adair from Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church will be officiating. Peck Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Ms. Imelda C. Fisher of Hartselle passed away at Summerford Nursing Health and Rehab early Monday morning December 11, 2023 at the age of 68. She was born to Griffin Berchmans and Kathleen McLaughlin Chatham on December 13, 1954 in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned her Masters Degree in Education and retired from Hartselle City School. She loved teaching and was an educator for 37 years before retiring. She loved to write poetry, write children’s books and kept a captive audience with her students. Imelda took guitar lessons and loved learning to play. She adored her pets.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bert Chatham, Frank Chatham, Mark Chatham and sisters, Kathy Chatham and Betty Chatham Hammond.
Survivors include her son, Josh Fisher and sister, Angela Norris.
