Ila Hipp Plunkett, 95 of Arab, died Wednesday September 27, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Plunkett was born April 10, 1922 in Marshall County to William Green and Ada Rutherford Green. She was a seamstress at Wrangler until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, she was a wonderful cook and loved helping people. Her husband Jack Hipp preceded her in death October 29, 1989 and her second husband Dewey Plunkett preceded her in death in 2005.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Plunkett is survived by her daughter: Barbara Kinney; her son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth Hipp and Hank; her grandchildren: Jeff Hipp, Stan Hipp, Scott Hipp, Connie Jones, Darby McKay and Mandy Willis; nine great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special care giver: Gale Johnson and special friend: Bonnie Rutherford. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Judy Hipp; her parents: William and Ada Green and ten siblings.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 1, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, with Brother: Mike Whitt, officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Steve Rutherford, Justin Rutherford, Johnny Rutherford, Lyle King, Brad Sullivan and Leon Johnson.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday September 30, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
