Idalene Self Singleton – Obituary

Idalene Self Singleton, 89, Hartselle went home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Edith Self; brother, Roy Self; and husband, A.L. Singleton Jr. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Parker, Decatur, Marilyn Allen (Charles), Birmingham, Ricky Singleton (Peggy) and Sherie Wimpee (Steve), both of Florence. She had nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, five sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church and the founder of the Country Cousins. She was a wonderful Christian who touched many lives and her life was a true testimony for God. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be at noon today with the service following at 1 p.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home on Memorial Drive, Decatur. Burial will follow in Johnson Chapel, Danville. Reverend Jack ReFearn will officiate.
