Ida Belle Gann, age 96, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016. Visitation will be today, Nov. 14, 2016, at Colbert Memorial Chapel from 12:30-2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Brother Larry Kilpatrick is officiating.
Mrs. Gann was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mattie Cheek; and husband, Melvin C. Gann; two sisters and one brother.
Survivors are son, Marvin Gann (Barbara); daughter, Martha Hester (Randall); a brother, Waymon Cheek; sisters, Lillie Mae Hall, Cora Lee Burfield, and Myrle Martin; grandchildren, Shane Gann, Jeremy Gann (Rebecca), Misty Hester Thrasher (Randy), and Amanda Hester South (Jim); 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gann was a homemaker and foster grandparent for over 20 years. She won the Star Walking Award many times while living at Morningside Assisited Living. She was also a member of Concord Baptist Church. She didn’t get her driving license until the age of 70.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
