Ian Brown Aycock, beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on May 24, 2023, of natural causes. He was 28 years old.
Ian was a lifelong resident of Huntsville and graduate of Sparkman High School. He loved his job welding at Mazda Toyota and was passionate about the great outdoors. He could often be found sporting a giant “shady hat” tending to his garden and advising others how to make their own gardens thrive. He was an avid hiker and skilled angler, carrying a kayak and tackle box with him wherever he went.
Ian will be remembered for his big smile, willingness to help others, musical talents, deep love for his family and friends, unbeatable record in Jeopardy geography and history categories, and ability to strike up a conversation with literally anyone.
He is survived by his parents, William and Linda Aycock, sister Anna Wallace, grandparents Billy and Katie Brown and Glynn Aycock, and many friends. Ian was predeceased by his grandmother, Teena Aycock.
A memorial service will be held for Ian at Ford’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Harvest on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at noon. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m. All who knew Ian are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ford’s Chapel UMC.
