Hyacinth worked as a nurse and was a member of Mt. Olivet Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Hyacinth is survived by her two daughters, Maxine Bennett of Queens, New York and Nicola Hamilton of Dayton, Tennessee.
