Hugh Wales, 83 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Wales was born on December 28th, 1939, in Athens, to E.O (Ervin) Wales and Tula May Toone Wales.
Mr. Wales is survived by his son Mark Wales (Tonya); granddaughter Megan Wales; brothers-in-law Calvin Lawrence (Shelia), James Lawrence (Jennifer), and Anthony Lawrence (Kathy); sisters-in-law Donna Beasley (Tommy) and Daphney Beasley; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Gail Wales; his parents, brothers, and sisters.
Funeral services with full military honors for Mr. Wales will be Sunday, December 10th, 2023, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Donald Terry officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00am-1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wales retired from Sears at the age of 62. He was a devoted man of God. He loved everyone, but especially loved his family. He dearly loved his wife, Gail, and his granddaughter Megan meant the world to him. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
