Hugh Edward Killingsworth, 94, of Huntsville passed away January 23, 2024.
Mr. Killingsworth was born September 27, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he graduated from Central High School in 1947. He earned a degree in Electronics from what is now known as the University of Memphis in 1951. Following college, Mr. Killingsworth enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as the radio operator on the USS Wasp during the Korean War.
He met his spouse, Joyce Simmons, in Jacksonville, Florida, while stationed at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, and they were married in 1954. The couple moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1965. While living in Huntsville, Mr. Killingsworth was employed with Honeywell International.
Mr. Killingsworth enjoyed visiting the Smoky Mountains, listening to classical music, working in the yard, and cheering for the Atlanta Braves.
He was predeceased by his parents, Eva and Clarence Killingsworth and his brother, Charles Howard Killingsworth.
He is survived by Joyce Killingsworth, and his children: Edward Killingsworth (Kamela) and Lydia Drennan (Charles), four grandchildren: Gillian Carusone, Graham Carusone, Matthew Drennan (Kryn), and Mark Drennan; two great-grandchildren: Andrew Carusone-Patten and Judah
Drennan, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Floyd E. Tut Fann Veterans Home for the care they provided to Mr. Killingsworth over the last ten years.

Mr. Killingsworth will be laid to rest in a private family service in Memphis, Tennessee. Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
