Hubert Gene Berry 81, of Sheffield, AL passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016.
Visitation will be 12:00p.m. to 2:00 p.m. , Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, AL. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery. Steven Butler will officiate.
Gene was a native of Tuscumbia, AL. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Co.
He was an avid Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves base ball fan. His hobbies were fishing, playing pool, playing the guitar, and he loved playing cards with his family.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years Doris Berry; daughters Wanda Flores (Richard) of Sheffield, AL, Teresa Dickey (Ronnie) of Florence, AL, Linda Scott (Joe) of Tuscumbia, AL, Marcie Berry of Sheffield, AL, Susan McBride (Wayne) of Sheffield, AL and Brenda Burleson (Joe) of Florence, AL; fourteen grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He adored his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will dearly miss our “Papaw Berry.”
Pallbearers will be Jeff Berry, Barney Dispigno, Donnie Ray Hegler, Daniel Grimes, Taylor Hodges, and Jamie White.
