Funeral service for Funeral service for Hoyt Prater, 82, will be Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery (South of Danville). Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Prater died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 5, 1932, in Morgan County to William Franklin Prater and Sindy Adeline (Bishop) Prater and was the eldest son of ten children.

Mr. Prater knew the Lord and cherished his family. He was a constructional welder by trade and loved to travel, loved football and Nascar. He was preceded in death by his parents, and seven siblings: Beverly Cutcher, Alvigene Sanford, Billy Joe Prater, Doris Ives, Helen Sue Clairday, Brenda Barker and James Prater.

David Prater (Charlene), Hartselle, AL

One Daughter:
Mary Ann Long (Lance), Highland, MI

One Brother:
Jack Prater, (Patricia) Eva, AL

One Sister:
Bonnie Colburn, (Clay) Hartselle, AL

Four Grandchildren: Gavin and Aubrey Long, Dana Lang (Scott), Candace
McElroy (Chris)

Six Great Grandchildren:
Nicholas, Sydney, and Ashton Lang, Noah Hunter, Caysen and Cael McElroy.

Pallbearers will be Gavin Long, Noah Hunter, Robert Clairday, Nathan Prater, Sandy Sanford and Steven Cutcher.
