Howell Cole DeLoach – Obituary

Howell Cole DeLoach, 93, of Sheffield, died Friday, June 29, 2012.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in Tuscumbia Cemetery, Corinth, Miss.
Mr. DeLoach was born in Birmingham and was a member of the Christian Science Church. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II, where he was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, and participated in battles at Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Island, Jan. 29 until Feb. 8, 1944. Mr. DeLoach was a graduate of Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and retired from Ford Motor Co. as an inspector. He loved gardening, wood working, bee keeping and birds.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Meredith DeLoach; sons, Darrell DeLoach (Kristie), Shawn DeLoach, Dwan DeLoach, Charles DeLoach (Veronica) and Jimmy DeLoach (Darcia); daughters, Renae DeLoach Fore (Jamie), Melanie DeLoach Roberts (Ronald), Bonnie DeLoach Spillane (Kevin) and Sherry DeLoach Burdett (John); grandchildren, Ann Watson (Larry), David Powell (Leslie), Sarafina Fore, Geordie Fore, Jared Fore, Chad Roberts (Kristen), Stephanie Roberts, Dustin DeLoach (Brittany), Miles Spillane, Savannah Spillane, Stacie Burdett Kelley (Dustin), Christy Burdett (Justin), John Burdett Jr. (Meagen), Rachel Burdett, Alexis DeLoach, and Samantha DeLoach, Darryl DeLoach; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Burdett Sr., John Burdett Jr., Dustin DeLoach, Ronald Roberts, Chad Roberts, Kevin Spillane and Miles Spillane.
