Howard Richard Whitehead, age 77, of Leoma, TN passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of Spring Hill, TN, retired from CSX, and a member of Oak Hill Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis Richard and Josephine Hunt Whitehead; one brother, Hollis Ray Whitehead; and three sisters, Jean Spears, Kathy White, and Vernie Whitehead.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Whitehead of Leoma, TN; two sons, Richard Whitehead (Robbie Zales) of Nashville, TN and Brian Whitehead (April) of McMinnville, TN; one brother, James Whitehead of Summertown, TN; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2024, with Bobby Gobble officiating. Interment will follow at Fall River Cemetery in Leoma, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
