Oh, That I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Howard Ray Marshall gained his wings and went to be with Jesus after a brief battle with illness on October 20, 2020 at the young age of 63. He was born in Franklin County on February 20, 1957 to the late Earl Clayton and Betty Lou Marshall. Howard served in the United States Air Force as a cable splicing specialist. He was a certified electrician and was employed by Site Communications in Gallatin, Tennessee. Howard was a “jack of all trades” and a master of many things. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. Howard is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Shelah “Kattie” Marshall; children, Christenna (Robby) Owens, Clayton (Mandy) Marshall, Elisabeth Owens, and Tabitha (Cody) Denton; grandchildren, Steven (Paige), Joshua (Haley), Kaytlin, Charles, Mary Jo, Todd, Howie, Remington, Layne, and Lily; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Kinsley, Sawyer, Lumen, and Ripley; siblings, John, Stanley, Elaine, and Rosie; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, awaiting him in heaven is his daughter, Kattie Joe Watters; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren, who gained their wings before they met him. Howard was a friend, father, and papa to everyone. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2020 with Steve Majors officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Moore-Cortner Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
