Howard Monroe Woods Jr., age 78, of Florence, died Saturday, March 14, 2015. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, March 16, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Shoals Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Woods was a native of Colbert County, and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Monroe Woods Sr. and Blanche Fuller Woods; sister, Evelyn Smitch; and brother, Bobby Woods.
Survivors include son, Vincent Lee Woods, of Memphis, TN; daughter, Crystal Lynn Keeton (Jeremy), of Tuscumbia, AL; brother, Bill Woods, of Snook, TX; sister, Elesha Hale, of Sheffield, AL; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Casen, and Makenna; and partner Eva Woods.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Bump, Hunter Bump, Billy Woods, Johnny Woods, Jack Warren, and Jeff Cannon. Keith Hallmark will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
