Howard Milford “Rich” Richards, age 83, of Russellville, formerly of Muscle Shoals, died Thursday, May 23, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. His funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Doug Farris and Bill Cotton officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Richards was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. He was retired from Alabama Tennessee Natural Gas and a member of Muscle Shoals Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Holt; parents; three brothers; and two sisters. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret Richards; daughter, Lynn Seal and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Adam Holt and wife, Emily, Justin Holt and wife, Heather, Randy Seal and wife, Kim, Stacy Hayes and husband, Scott; and great-grandchildren, Beau Holt and, coming soon, Raychel Holt, Jacob Seal, Joshua Seal and Savannah Hayes.
Pallbearers are Adam Holt, Justin Holt, Kevin Miller, Matthew Sibley, Butch Richards and Mike Richards. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Threet, Bill Wallace, Eddie Walker, Dean Lesley, Al Hughes, Brad Borden and his longtime Navy buddy, Bobby Davis.
