Howard C. Peden, age 77, of Town Creek, passed away Tuesday, Sep. 4, 2012. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Eddie Osborn officiating. Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery.
Mr. Peden was a native of Leighton, was a veteran, having served in theĀ Army, and a member of Hatton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Peden; son, Larry Peden; parents, Floyd and Margaret Peden.
Papa was a very loving and generous man. He loved hunting and fishing and Alabama football and enjoyed watching his grandsons race. He could fix anything he attempted. We will miss him greatly.
He is survived by his wife, Donnie Peden; sons, Paul Peden and Leslie “Frog” Peden; stepsons, Randy and Jeff Power; daughters, Paulette Ledlow, Tina Duncan; stepdaughter, Dewanna Dolan; brother, Robert Peden; sisters, Elizabeth Osborn, Mary Oleham and Jane Bergan; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a special niece and nephew, Darrell “Bubba” Franks Jr. and Denise Franks, whom he has enjoyed raising since the age of eight. “Bubba” was Daddy’s right-hand man.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Casey Ledlow, Haden Duncan, Brady Ledlow, Darrell Franks Jr., Jeffery Power and Tyler Dolan.
