Howard Braxton GoffHoward Braxton Goff, 63 of Elkmont, passed away on Monday, December 19th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Goff was born on January 26th, 1959, in Limestone County, to Josh and Mildred Hughes Goff.

Mr. Goff is survived by his wife, Donna Goff; daughter Amberly Brown (Cody); son Joshua Goff (Kaela); sisters Brenda Swanner (Curtis) and Beverly Taylor (Kenneth); brother Joel Goff (Erika); granddaughter Lillyana Goff; mother Mildred Goff; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father; and sister Connie Sue Goff.

Howard was a man who lived by the basic values of honesty, hard work, and “a man’s word.” If someone called, Howard was there to help. He was devoted to both family and friends.

Howard was an accomplished horseman and raised and trained many horses. He loved to rope and even built a roping arena for family and friends to enjoy.

One of his greatest accomplishments was completing, along with his wife, his ranch – “The Dusty G.” It was there Howard spent hours and hours teaching his granddaughter Lilly horsemanship, barrel racing, pole bending, and roping. You could certainly see the love and pride in Howard’s face as he watched Lilly successfully compete in many rodeos.

A recent comment from a young rodeo acquaintance is a tribute to Howard. It read, in part, “…I thought the world of him…out of everyone at a rodeo, he was the one I looked forward to seeing and talking to.” He will be greatly missed by many.

Funeral services for Mr. Goff will be Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Pat Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:45pm. Burial will be at Fielding Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Davis, Kyle Smith, Dustan Taylor, Joel Goff, Dwight Lovell, and Joe Bullington. Honorary pallbearer will be Braxton Swanner.
