Mr. Houston Brimer, age 82, went to his heavenly home Friday July 22, 2022. He passed away at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Houston was a Van Buren County native, born on January 6, 1940 to the late Carl and Cleo Simmons Brimer. Houston was a devout Christian and was a member of United Community Church in Spencer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, son; Timothy Brimer, brothers; George and Willard Brimer.
Houston is survived by his loving family, wife; Betty Simmons Brimer, daughters; Teresa (James) Cunningham, Lisa (Glenn) Smith, brothers; Joe (Bessie) Brimer, Buster (Dot) Brimer, Edward Brimer, Jimmy (Debbie) Brimer, Larry (Lisa) Brimer, Carl Brimer, Dwight Brimer, sisters; Beatrice Mitchell, Margaret (Harold) Scott, grandchildren; Stephanie Caballero, Jessie Phillips, Jaden Brymer, Latoshia Smith, Jared Smith, great-grandchildren; Alex Caballero, Adelyn Caballero, Whitley Phillips, Braydin Smith, Brennan Roberts, Will Smith, special son; Brian Brimer, special daughter; Jennifer (Gary) Mason, Houston’s four-legged friend; Cooter. A large extended family also survives.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 25, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Jeremiah Manus and Bro. Bethel Mooneyham officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are Sunday July 24th 4:00pm-9:00pm and Monday July 25th 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
