ZIP CITY – So the Zip city Volunteer Fire Department needs a bunch of new equipment. And the men and women there are a resourceful lot. Enter Robert Walker and a bunch of friends and family. These folks staged, for the third year in a row, The Zip City Volunteer Fire Department Horseless Rodeo. The theme for this year’s bash was “Even Less Horses Than Last Year”. Truth be told, there were a couple of horses in a paddock several hundred feet from the event, and they looked sort of lonely back there.
But up front where the action was, there wasn’t much thought about lonely steeds. No sir, the only things on the revelers minds were things like, “How am I going to get this post hole dug in all this chert”, or, “I think I can herd this chicken into its cage”, or, “That’s some mighty fine music up on that stage!” Yep. It was a rodeo of a different color.
Here is the video!
The Quad-Cities Daily was out at the Rodeo taking EVENT PHOTOS. We present them here. Enjoy!
