Horace was a World War II Veteran and had an active life until his health wouldn’t allow. He was a member of New Center Baptist Church and loved attending the Somerville Senior Center. Horace competed in the Senior Olympic Games, winning more Gold, Silver and Bronze medals than you could count. He played 3 on 3, and 4 on 4 Basketball and shot free throws, played badminton, shuffleboard and other games, but basketball was his game. He played full court basketball up until the age of 90.
His favorite hobby was fishing and as long his health allowed he would fish year round. Horace was blessed to keep his own yard mowed and cleaned up until last fall. Horace was an avid Alabama Football fan. He would be quick to tell you that God had truly blessed him!
