Horace Miller “Mills” Sproull IV, 20, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015.
Mills was a graduate of Oak Mountain High School and was attending The University of South Carolina – Upstate where he was a member of the soccer team. Mills was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Birmingham, Alabama.
Mills is survived by his parents, Joy Martin and Horace Miller Sproull III, and siblings, Wimberly Sproull, Sparks Sproull, and Holly Sproull, all of Birmingham; maternal grandparents, Joan and Jack Martin, of Florence, Alabama; aunts and uncles, Jim Sproull, Hunt Sproull, Barbara Snow, Eva Andrews, Jay Martin, and Jill Lunsford; and many cousins.
Mills was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Barbara and Miller Sproull, and aunt, Sara Sproull Choquette.
A celebration of Mills’ life will be Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at The Church of the Highlands Chapel, Birmingham, Alabama. An honorary soccer game will be held following the service in the soccer fields behind Oak Mountain High School.
