Horace Franklin Corkren, age 87, of Haleyville, Alabama passed away November 25, 2018. He was a member of South Haleyville Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for over 38 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Visitation is Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home-Haleyville. Funeral service is Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11;00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Vance Hutton, Orry Moody, Michael Farris and Rod Tate officiating. Burial in Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery, Brilliant, Alabama.
Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Hamric Corkren; children, Paula (Clayton) Benefield, Frankie (Jeff-Big Red) Sutherland; grandchildren, David Benefield, Tiffany Watts, Orry Moody, Noah Moody, Andrew Josh Sutherland and Ashley Sutherland; great grandchildren, Declyn Moody and Brayden McBrayer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carvis Andrew and Arilla Corkren; daughter, Kathy Corkren, brothers and sisters, Lucille Downey, Cecil Corkren, Robbie Landrum, Harold Corkren, James Taft Corkren and Rebert Corkren.
