Horace C. Mann Jr., age 81, of Florence, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 10, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The graveside service will be Tuesday Dec. 11, 2012 in Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Norma Jean Mann.
Mr. Mann received a degree in Chemical Engineering from of The University of Louisville J.B. School of Engineering. He retired from TVA after 41 years of service in Fertilizer Research and Development Branch. He attended Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a member of Florence Golf and Country Club, The Elks Lodge, and the Optimist Club. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Mann of Birmingham, Ala.
