Hope Dallas Priest went to be with the Lord at the end of August, 2022. She was born in Jackson, MS, on
March 23, 1956, the fifth child of Webster Emmett Dallas and Olene Skelton Dallas. The family later moved to Starkville, MS and then to Sturgis, MS. Hope graduated from Sturgis High School where she excelled in basketball and track. She was a cheerleader and was also elected Homecoming Queen her senior year. She went on to attend Mississippi State University and Mississippi University for Women.

Hope enjoyed reading and was a talented writer herself. Her lifelong struggle with the disease of addiction hindered her promising future and created barriers to healthy relationships. However, her final two years were spent in recovery mode and she was finally able to find the peace for which she had long yearned.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Elliott Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter, Dallas Kincer, 2 granddaughters- Mary Peyton Kincer and Tucker Kincer, 3 brothers – Jerry Dallas, Rick Dallas and Joe Dallas, 3 sisters – Libby Gerald, Ginny Miller and April Hanshew.

There will be a private graveside service for family members. Welch funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
