Homer W. Pruitt, age 88, of Greeneville, Tenn., died Feb. 27, 2014, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. He worked as a tool and die maker for the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Greeneville, Tenn. and a member of the VFW. Mr. Bill loved his Alabama Crimson Tide. “Roll Tide!” He was a veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Pruitt, of Greeneville; daughter, Beverly Davis and husband, Chris, of Orange Park, Fla.; son, David V. Pruitt and wife, Julie, of San Diego, Calif; two brothers, Kenneth Pruitt and wife, Joyce, of Birmingham, Ala., and Jerry Pruitt, of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and friends at the YMCA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Leo Nellie Carter Pruitt; a son, Victor Pruitt; a sister, Elva Seibienhenir; a brother, Taylor Pruitt; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Pruitt.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Interment will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence, Ala. Dr. David Green is officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Sunday School class and friends at the YMCA.
The family will received friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday preceding the service.
