Mr. Homer Paul Weaver, age 94 of Centre, passed away Monday, September 7th at Gadsden Regional.
Funeral services will be 7:PM Thursday, September 10th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Eddie Nation and Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating; burial will be held 10 AM Friday at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Joe Garmany, Brett Garmany, Jim Garmany, Johnny Weaver, Wendell Rakestraw, Morgan Dykes, Freddy Reynolds, Tom Kelly, Charlie Hincy, Harvel Neyman. Honorary Pallbearers include Carpenters for Christ and Monday Night Rook Club.
Survivors include his son, Jerry Paul (Susan) Weaver of Leesburg; daughter, Karen (Len) Hogan of Centre; sister, Erma McGatha of Centre; grandchild, Kandi (Josh) Gramany of Centre; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Abby Garmany of Centre; brother-in-law, Ervin Leonard of Guntersville, AL; a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Collins Weaver.
Mr. Weaver was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Albert Lee and Daisy Ann Free Weaver, and was member of Centre First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Cherokee County Carpenters of Christ and Monday Night Rook Club.
The family is accepting flowers or memorials may be made to Centre First Baptist Church.
