Homer Clifton Land, age 81 of Murfreesboro formerly of Franklin County, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024, at his residence. He was born on November 21, 1942, in Palmer, Tennessee to the late Elmer Land and Elsie (Bryant) Land. Homer retired after many years with the City of Harvey, Illinois as a foreman in the street department. He enjoyed his trips to Skips Grill for a wonderful meal and a milkshake from Dairy Queen. In his spare time, you could find him watching Fox News or old Westerns. Homer will be remembered as a true friend that would let you know where he stands. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pansey Ashley Land, and sister, Janet Stovall. Homer is survived by his children, Paige Land, Laura (Chuck) Janko, Kevin (Kim) Land and Jeffrey Land; grandchildren, Kayla (Joe) Long, Kyle Janko, Kevin (Brenna) Land, and Madison Land; great-grandchildren, Blakely Long and one on the way; brother, Bill Land; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 1:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with Terry Land, Marty Land, Gary Land, Dillon Land, Mason Land, Dalton Land and Kyle Janko all serving as pallbearers.
