hollisMr. Hollis Swinea, 78 of Florence passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Lauderdale County, a member of Cross Point Church of Christ, Shoals Mustangs Club, United Auto Workers, and retired from Ford Motor Company and General Motors.
Visitation is today, July 24, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be David Sain and Clifford Miles.
Mr. Hollis is preceded in death by his parents, William and Eva Swinea.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Brockwell Swinea, two sons, Steven Edward Swinea and Patrick Grant Swinea, daughter, Amy Swinea Bennett, brother, James Calven Swinea, two sisters, Lucille Swinea Ratliff and Rebecca Swinea Danley, grandchildren, Matthew Edward Swinea, Michael Andrew Swinea, Annalaura Bell Swinea, and Caroline Elizabeth Swinea, great grandchildren, Aiden and Andrew Bennett.
Pallbearers will be David Willingham, Michael Swinea, Lee Danley, Kim Richardson, James Goode, and Terry Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers will include the Shoals Mustangs Club, Warren Bennett, Jimmie Clemmons, Ellis Coats, and Bobby Carter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Josh Willingham Foundation, P.O. Box 2194, Florence, AL. 35630.
