Hollis Choyce Hicks, 65, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Red Bay, AL to Damos Hicks and Ruth Hamilton Hicks. He was retired from Tiffin Motor Homes after forty-eight years where he was a leadman.
Services will be Thursday, January 9, 12 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Hicks; daughter, Holly Ozbirn (Kyle); son, Brian Upton (Shannon); five grandsons, Cohen Massey, Holland Ozbirn, Shannon Upton, Davin Tanner and Cooper Upton; two granddaughters, Annabelle Upton and Kylee Ozbirn; two sisters, Lucille Bryson and Ellen Bohannan and two brothers, Jackie Hicks and Charlie Hicks (Pauline).
He was preceded in death by his father, Damos Hicks, his mother, Ruth Slaughter and a brother, Tommy Hicks.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Upton, Davin Tanner, Randal George, Phillip Orrick, Benny Bridges and Kyle Ozbirn. Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper Upton, Tim Holley, Cohen Massey and Holland Ozbirn.
