Hollis Chandler – Obituary

Hollis Chandler, 86, of Rogersville died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at his residence. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, owned and operated a local garage for over 67 years and loved dirt track racing.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel with David O’Connell officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Jody Howard, Rusty Hudson, John Chandler, Floyd Glass, Jr., Bruce Springer and Donnie McCafferty; honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Glass, Ross Chandler and Michael Chandler.

Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by his parents, O.P. & Hattie Chandler; brothers, Marshal, J.C., Rewel and Lonner Chandler; sisters, Christine Glass, Donner Chandler, Alcidene Romine and Sybil Cosby.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Chandler; sons, Mike H. Chandler & Ronnie L. Chandler; daughter, Sherry (Tommy) Wallace; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Linda Phillips, Helen Phillips and Joyce Holley.
