Hobert Jefferson May, 76, a native of Iuka, MS and a resident of Lauderdale County, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at E.C.M. Hospital. He was an elder at Mars Hill Church of Christ.
Visitation is today, July 15, 2012 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday, July 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Bill Bagents and Chris Moran officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. May was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hobert and Gladys Cloer May; two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 58 ½ years, Willodean H. May; sons, Edward May (Susan) of Florence, Steve May (Lisha) of Mobile; sister, Vera Kent of Falkville, AL; grandchildren, Bart May Mitzi), Wes May (Katie), Jeff May (Brandi), Jenny Horton (Mike), Ashley Barnes (Justin); great grandchildren, Parker and Spencer May.
Active pallbearers will be Bart May, Wes May, Jeff May, Mike Horton, Justin Barnes, and Phillip May.
Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Mars Hill Church of Christ, Hubert Powell, Bill Wynne, Don Harriman, Myron Wilson, Joel Caudle, Don Lewis, and Dr. Robert Mann.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 6th floor West at ECM Hospital, Dr. Robert Mann and staff.
