Hits and Haunts Tour features Muscle Shoals music and ghosts

unnamed-2TUSCUMBIA – The Colbert County Tourism and Convention Bureau is cooking up a howling good time to kick off the Halloween season.
The second annual Hits and Haunts Trolley Tour will depart ColdWater Books, at 7 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 11 and Thursday Oct. 13 for a ghost tour of the area that includes stop a stop Cypress Moon Studios in Sheffield, where paranormal activities have been reported. During the trolley ride, award-winning journalist and author, Bernie Delinski, will tell stories about Shoals ghosts.
At Cypress Moon Studios, owner Tonya Holley will share stories about Muscle Shoals music and ghostly encounters she has experienced in the historic building that has been used as a power plant, U.S. Naval Reserve station and a recording and movie production studio.
Susann Hamlin, president and CEO of Colbert Tourism, said the tour is for music fans and Halloween enthusiasts of all ages.
“The tour is a great way to an early start on Halloween and to learn about the history of our music and hear some fascinating ghost stories” Hamlin said. “There are spirits of past inhabitants the Shoals that are dying to be discovered during the tour.”
Delinski will have copies of his book “The Omega Ghost” available for purchase at the end of the tour.
Tickets for the tours are $15 and are available at the Colbert Tourism Office, 719 U.S. Hwy. 72, Tuscumbia, next door to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. For more details call 256-383-0783 or email colberttourism@comcast.net.
