Hit-And-Run Accident Takes Life Of Haleyville Man

HALEYVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a hit-and-run accident that has taken the life of a Haleyville man:

“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. Monday, November 18, has claimed the life of a Haleyville man.

The pedestrian, Eddie F. Taylor, 71, who was pushing a bicycle in the roadway, was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle. As a result of the impact, Taylor was thrown into a guardrail and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle that struck Taylor left the scene and is unknown at this time.

The crash occurred on Marion County 85 near Kilpatrick Dairy Road, approximately two miles west of Haleyville, in Marion County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

The vehicle involved in the crash, along with the driver, are currently unknown. If anyone has information concerning the crash, please contact ALEA Troopers at (256) 383-9212.”
